I'll start with our trip to Washington D.C.
The kids weren't very impressed with all of the museums so we didn't stay very long in any of them. But we managed to make it to the Museum of Natural History, the American History Museum, and the Air & Space Museum.

Seeing how much they weigh on other planets - at the Air & Space Museum
The girls liked the bugs at the Museum of Natural History.

Checking out mummies & skeletons at the Museum of Natural History
We then got a tour of the U.S. Capitol. I wasn't so sure about this, but it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It was very interesting and it's beautiful inside.

Inside the dome - "The Apotheosis of Washington".
We loved all of the Monuments! We've all seen them on TV or in magazines or whatever, but to see them in person is just amazing.
The Jefferson Memorial
The Lincoln Memorial
The Washington Monument
We also went to Arlington Cemetary. This wasn't high on the list of things we wanted to see, but I'm so glad we went. This place is gorgeous!
John F. Kennedy Eternal Flame
And of course you can't go to D.C. without seeing the White House!
After all of this, we had to do something fun for the kids. So, we stopped at Georgetown Cupcake.
Also known as D.C. Cupcakes on TLC. Needless to say, there was a line...
But it was worth the wait once we got inside.

Their "Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookie" cupcake was amazing!
We did LOTS of walking
and
Lots of riding the Metro
We also did a little sightseeing on the Double Decker Tour Bus
We had a blast, but when it was all said and done we were ready to come home! We were exhausted but it was definitely worth it.
